Jennifer first started working for H.R. Choices, Inc. in 2001 as a practicum student from North Central State College. Her first position with the company was as a DSP staff and later transitioned into the role of Care Coordinator. In 2004 Donna Herr gave Jennifer the chance to expand the business and start a day support program. In 2012 Donna decided to retire and in turn passed her business on to Jennifer. Jennifer has since continued to grow the company adding transportation. She has now worked in the DD field for 17 years
Jennifer was born and raised in Shelby and now lives in Ontario with her 2 teenage daughters. She is a proud graduate of NCSC with a Human Resources degree.
While I was still in college, I came to H.R. Choices as a practicum student from 2011 to 2012. I enjoyed my time with the company so much that I took a job as an Adminstrative Assistant right out of school. In 2014, I was promoted into the position of Care Coordinator. I stayed in that position until 2016 when I was asked to step into the role of Chief Operations Officer for HR Choices. I look forward to all the new challenges that arise as I continue to grow within the company. I love my job, especially the people I work with and that we provide services to. There is no better feeling then making a difference in someone's life.
I have been blessed with 3 amazing children, 2 boys and a girl. They are very involved in baseball, wrestling, and football. I have just recently purchased my first home and look forward to creating memories with my family in it. We enjoy spending time outside with our family and friends.
While my background is not in the DD field, I have spent the past 19 years working as an executive for large companies and bring a great deal of knowledge in running a large company with a lot of moving pieces. I look forward to the opportunity to help this company become one of the top providers in the state. I am also very excited to spend time with and get to know our individuals and learn some of the amazing things that they can teach me.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my son who is very active in sports. I am also learning on the fly what it is like to be a step-father of 2 teenage daughters. Honestly, nothing in life can prepare you for that. In the end I could not be any luckier to have the unbelievable blended family that I have.
I started with H.R. Choices in 2003 when my mother owned the company and worked different positions under her. In 2006 I settled into the Medical Coordinator position. I am very grateful for the opportunities from both my mother and Jennifer.
As I stated before my mother started this company and so this is a field that runs through my blood. In addition I am a proud mother of a daughter that will graduate from Miami University in 2019. She is majoring in Speech & Language Pathology with a minor in Special Education. Seems like she could be the third generation to work in this field.
I started with H.R. Choices in 2017 working in our Day-hab program, then I moved over to our office and became our office manager until 2019. My current position is Payee-Rep, I handle all the individual’s bills, social security, and other miscellaneous financial stuff. I love helping out wherever I’m needed and getting to know our individuals.
I was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio. My favorite holiday season is Christmas. I’m happily married with 1 son. We love going on vacations together, or just going out and doing a road trip somewhere together, just spending as much time together as possible.
I've been with this company for almost 4 years, but I’m no stranger to special needs. I have several relatives with a variety of special needs, one being closest to my heart; my sister. It has always warmed my heart to see my sister living the best life possible for her, so to me it means a lot to be a part of an agency that provides that kind of life to others like my sister. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the people within our agency, and see them live their best lives too. It's wonderful to be a part of their happiness.
I was born and raised in Ohio. Me and my spouse were high school sweethearts, and now we are raising two beautiful kids together. We enjoy anything done together as a family. Whether it be an outdoor adventure, or a rainy day inside with snacks and movies; we’re happiest together.
I have been working with H.R. Choices for the past 7 years. I am currently a Care Coordinator for 5 homes, but started in 2011 as DSP. I find that every day is a learning experience and enjoy the opportunity to make a difference in our individuals lives. I love my job and enjoy the people that I work with as well as the clients I serve.
I have 2 adult children and 1 grandson. I love the outdoors, camping, fishing, and long walks. My favorite thing to do in my free time is to read a good book or spend time with my family and friends.
I have worked in the DODD field since 1982. I first started at Raintree group home and then moved on to Richland Newhope Industries where I spent 13 years. In 2014 I became an independent family resource provider. I then took a position with H.R. Choices where I am currently a Care Coordinator and Level One Coordinator.
I have a brother who has developmental disabilities. Caring for him throughout my life has given me a passion to see those with disabilities experience a high quality of life. I have a desire to give a voice to those who cannot advocate for themselves. It is my firm belief that all people deserve to be loved and cared for - no matter what.
I graduated from Madison High School in 1991 and proceeded to go to North Central Technical College were I recieved my Associates Degree in Therapeutic Recreation in 1993. In 2012 I was hired by H.R. Choices as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) while also working in our Dayhab. In 2016 I moved into the role of Activity Coordinator for the company, giving me the opportunity to use my degree to enrich the lives of our individuals.
I was born and raised in Mansfield Ohio. I enjoy having fun, playing games, listening to music, and swimming.I enjoy seeing the individuals smiling faces as they take pride in being part of their communites.
My experience in the field of disabilities spans over twenty years, with the last nine years spent as the Director of five Adult Day Service centers for another agency in adjacent counties. I also served as that agency's Employment First Coordinator and have been fortunate to have added past advisor for People First of Knox County and a past board member with NAMI to my journeys.
My husband and I live just outside of Lexington on a farm among all my Amish neighbors. Cherished in my life are my daughter Maggy, son Keegan, my husband of 34 years, and my crazy cute dog Ernie. I love tending to my flowers, reading, and hula hooping!!! I am grateful in the amount of luck that has been bestowed upon me to work along side such passionate team members and awe-inspiring individuals, all of which I am truly blessed to call my friends.
I have been involved in this field my entire life, from family members with special needs, to becoming an independent provider in 2000, to working in residential settings.
I started working for H.R. Choices in 2015 and became the day support coordinator for the ClubHouse in 2017. I have known many of the wonderful people we serve for several years now and could not imagine doing anything else in my life.
I was born in Texas, but have lived in Ohio most of my life. I am very passionate about animal welfare and have taken in several rescues throughout the years, I am currently the proud "fur-momma" of three cats and a very spoiled bully-boxer. I also have a rather large plant collection that keeps me busy.
Little did I know in January of 2020 right before our world went crazy. I would be starting a new job that was so meaningful and rewarding. I know everyone at some time says that, but I never did. Most of my jobs were for survival and to raise my 3 now grown children. Working in this field has open my eyes and has taught me so much about the rewards that this field brings. Making our individuals smile is the best, their whole faces light up with just something so simple where most people take for granted. I started working in the homes of our individuals, went to our dayhab program and now I am in the office. I still get to see all the folks because I am lucky to have dayhab in the same building. I still help with our levels and attend parties and programs and it is a joy. As my husband and I start to wind down in our lives and most people are thinking retiring, I embrace the fact that I have a job that I can still reach and help in this wonderful field that I hope someday is navigated and understood in our society by everyone. I want to thank HR Choices staff for giving me the opportunity to learn and grow at my age.
I have been with HR Choices for 5 years in many different capacities. I landed in the Adult Day Support Director role in 2020, and I have found my home! I love spending time with our individuals and bringing them activities that enrich their lives. I find myself often thinking "I can't believe I get to do this as a job!" I love the ADS staff and bringing smiles to these beautiful faces of the ones we serve.
I have been married 26 years to everyone's favorite, Rob. We have 2 amazing adult children, my dog Otis, and 2 grand dogs. I love spending time with my family and our animals. In my free time I enjoy reading and macrame.
